A smart city is an urban development vision to integrate multiple Information and Communication Technologie (ICT) solution in a secure fashion to manage a city's assets. The goal of building a smart city is to improve quality of life by using urban informatics and technology to improve the efficiency of services to the public. Intelligent Transport System (ITS) holds promise for a sustainable and balanced transportation solution. ITS technologies enable gathering of data or intelligence and then providing timely feedback to traffic managers and road-users. ITS results in improved safety to drivers, better traffic efficiency, reduced traffic congestion, improved energy efficiency & environmental quality and enhanced economic productivity.
This conference is an interdisciplinary forum which brings together leading academicians, engineers, scientists, researchers, industrial experts, practitioners and entrepreneurs who are already working on various aspects in the area of ITS. This Conference provides an opportunity to exchange and share their experiences, solutions and suggestions based on the research conducted and conclusions derived from it. The conference is structured with a pre-conference tutorial, high-level key note and plenary sessions, technical paper presentation sessions and ground breaking panel discussions.
The conference is organized under TEQIP-II, Sub component 1.2.1. During the deliberations, the current developments in strategies & policies, technology & systems, analytics and capacity building for ITS will be reviewed.
